What Should We Be Teaching?
I’ve always believed that we should prepare our youth to be good citizens, and be able to navigate successfully through daily life. I tried to prepare my students with what I referred to as survival or life skills. I wanted them to be good communicators, wise consumers, understand finances, the law and be problem solvers as well as critical thinkers.
Educators and parents can help to provide the best all-around learning experiences for our students/children and we need to work together to do it.
