I am flipping my library instruction for 3-5th graders, too. Using Edmodo and pages on my blog, students have been earning badges for demonstrating competences in basic library skills and soon will be moving on to advanced research processes. I enjoyed reading your post about your process. We just began learning this way at the end of last year and haven’t made it to research yet. Your information will help guide me. I have hesitated to use TRAILS because my students are already subjected to so many standardized tests. Being able to document outcomes is a pretty good reason to reconsider.
